Pricing depends on various factors as most lodges and hotels have seasonal rates. So the rate can vary quite dramatically between summer and winter, for example. Our price guide is here to give you an idea of what the property you are interested in cost per person per night.

We have 4 ratings based on HIGH season and is per person per night sharing.

£ Good value – up to £200
££ Mid-range – between £200 and £400
£££ Pricey – between £400 and £600
££££ Top-end – over £600

Price seasons:

• HIGH is July to October
• LOW is January, March and December

Kenya and Tanzania
• HIGH is July to October
• LOW is November to June

• HIGH is June to October
• LOW is November to May

South Africa
• HIGH is October to April
• LOW is May to September

• HIGH is June to October
• LOW is November to April and December

Indian Ocean Islands
• HIGH is April (Easter) and December (Christmas and New Year)

PEAK season rates will also apply over peak periods such as Christmas, New Year and Easter.

Lodges and resorts – normally the rate includes accommodation, all meals, teas/coffees and snacks, selected activities and selected beverages. Some lodges also include road transfers from and to nearby airports or local airstrips.

Hotels – normally the rate includes accommodation and breakfast.

Items normally not included in rates are park fees, conservation levies, gratuities, meals not specified and alcoholic beverages.

Long-stay discounts, combination and special offers:
• Many lodges and hotels offer long-stay specials. This is normally in low season from 3 or 4 nights onwards.
• Combining 2 or 3 different properties in the same group is cost effective as they often offer discounts.
• Honeymooners often get good discounts and special extras.

Most properties offer discounts for children under the age of 12 years.
