Day One
Friday evening. Depart London Heathrow.
Day Two
Arrive Johannesburg. You will be met and transferred by road to Sun City which is unlike any other resort destination in the world. Deep in the bush this is pure fantasy where your choice of activities other than golf is limitless. There are three world-class hotels including the magnificent Palace of the Lost City and The Cascades.
The Cascades is a sophisticated modern hotel with lush gardens, tropical birds and plenty of water features. All rooms have recently been refurbished and are now equipped with every modern convenience.
4 nights The Cascades on a bed and breakfast basis
Day Three
Your first round of golf will be on the Gary Player Country Club course home to the annual $2.0m Golf Challenge. The course has been designed around the African bush with water coming into play at key moments. It is long and demanding off the back tees with the 9th and its island green which is a real challenge for long hitters aiming to get on in two on this famous par 5.
Day Four
Today you will play the Lost City course which has been carved out of undulating and rocky terrain. Here you find wider fairways and more receptive greens. The signature par 3 13th requires you to play over a small water hazard full of crocodiles…… so it’s either a par or a double bogey. After golf it’s back to the hotel to head off to the lake for a bit of waterskiing or more punishment in the casino.
Day Five
A chance for you to improve your previous round’s score with a second round at the Gary Player Country Club.
Day Six
Today depart after an early breakfast for Pecanwood Golf Club located on the banks of the Hartbeespoort Dam. This course is rated in the top ten in the country and is a favourite of Jack Nicklaus.
After golf it’s a quick dash to Lanseria airport and your charter flight down to Malelane TSB and Leopard Creek. Your hire car will be waiting for you and it’s only a 5 minute drive to Buhala Country House. It has 10 bedrooms so there is an emphasis on personal service as well as international cuisine with an extensive wine list. Buhala sits overlooking the Crocodile River on the southern boundary of The Kruger National Park. You can watch the game come down to drink whilst you relax on the verandah or swim in the pool and snooze on the sun deck. Golf at Leopard Creek is just ten minutes away.
3 nights Buhala Country House on a bed and breakfast basis
Day Seven
After breakfast its time to drive to Leopard Creek, a Gary Player design, built to blend in with its natural surroundings. This is a paradise for golfers as it gives you an opportunity to admire all the beauty of the bushveld and golfing hazards take on a new dimension, for much of the water is home to families of hippos and crocodiles.
Leopard Creek is a highly exclusive private golf course so your challenging rounds can be played at your own pace.
The signature hole is the 510 metre par-five thirteenth. The green is right on the edge of the Crocodile River well above the level of the water, offering unique views of the river and nearby game.
Day Eight
A mid morning round has been booked for you and the chance to better your game with lunch served at Halfway in the Club House.
Day Nine
Your last day and a chance to either relax by the pool or participate in one of the many activities available nearby.
