Day 1 – Nairobi to Masaai Mara
Arrive in Nairobi on international flight at JKIA. You will be met and embark on a road transfer to Wilson Airport. Fly to the Maasai Mara and you will be driven to Angama Mara Camp. Stay at at Angama Mara perched high up over the Mara Triangle - with views that take your breath away. On the rim of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment, overlooking the Mara Triangle, with vast amounts of animals, and most spectacularly the iconic wildebeest migration, lies Angama Mara. A place where the light never sits still. The sun shining through the clouds creates chaotic shadows, ever on the move across the Mara plains. The sky – ‘anga’ in Swahili – melts into the horizon, and it is hard to define where it ends and the earth begins.
Day 4 – Masaai Mara to Nairobi
Today you will be transferred to the airstrip for a flight to Wilson Airport, Nairobi with Safarilink. You will be met and transferred to Giraffe Manor. One of Africa’s most iconic hotels - kiss a giraffe! Spend a day in Nairobi delving into European Settler history at the Karen Blixen museum or tend to a baby elephant at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
Day 6 – Nairobi to Livingstone
This morning you will be met and transferred by road to JKIA Airport. Fly to Livingstone. You will be met for a road and ‘water-taxi’ transfer to Tongabezi. From here explore the world’s largest sheet of falling water, the Victoria Falls – one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. The lodge sits in a sweeping bend of the Zambezi River just upstream of the Falls. The motto here is that nothing is too much effort. Private dining in a choice of venues – from a quirky picnic on an authentic dhow or an lazy breakfast in your king size bed… or your very own ‘Sampan’ floating on the Zambezi river, illuminated by the Milky Way - with every course delivered from the kitchen by canoe! 12 chalets of different shapes and sizes, each individually decorated in traditional to modern tones, are strewn along the river bank.
Day 9 – Livingstone to Franschhoek
This morning you will be transferred to Livingstone Airport. Fly to Cape Town. From Cape Town you will travel to the beautiful Cape Winelands. Stay at the stunning La Clé des Montagnes villas. Luxury, privacy, unparalleled service and captivating mountain views define this place– a peaceful retreat in the heart of South Africa’s wine country. Day 12 – Cape Town – home
Today you will say a fond farewell and drive to Cape Town Airport. Depart on your international flight for home.
