Mauritius
Mauritius has in recent years established itself as one of the world's new golf destinations. Its status as a venue for serious golfers has taken a huge leap forward thanks to the major expansion of a number of golf courses. Three new top quality 18 hole courses have opened in the last three years, with more planned on both the west and east coasts. The most recent addition is the Golf du Chateau on a former sugar plantation estate at Bel Ombre in the South West corner of the island, designed by Peter Matkovich. Most Pro shops have an excellent selection of clubs available to hire thus giving you the option of travelling lighter.

Belle Mare Plage – The Legend

Each of the 18 holes has a distinct characteristic lined with shady trees and dense vegetation making straight hitting a must. |

Belle Mare Plage – The Links
This is the second course which opened in November 2002. The Links clubhouse, situated on the highest point on the course, enjoys magnificent panoramic views. The course has been created and cut out of indigenous forest and volcanic rock. It is slightly more demanding than the Legend with a Links feel, wide open spaces and roaming terrain. The water hazards only really come into play on the back nine. |

Touessrok
This is the golf course that really put Mauritius on the map as a golfing destination when it opened in 2003. It's a championship course of extraordinary concept built on its own tropical island of "Ile aux Cerfs" on the east coast. To get here you are taken out by boat, which is why this has to be one of the greatest golf settings in the world. The amazing topography provides an exciting challenge; volcanic rock, outcrops, lakes, a mass of tropical fauna and a shoreline of small bays and promontories. |
