BEACH

Our Top Lodges

Mozambique

Our lodges are particularly remote and are all situated on beautiful islands with exquisite scenery. The lodges are built in a traditional style and offer en-suite bathrooms, private decks and panoramic views. Azura is very luxurious and the most accessible of the lodges, Medjumbe and Qualaliea offer a huge range of both motorised and non-motorised water activities whereas Vamizi offers understated luxury without modern day communications.

Azura, situated on Benguerra Island part of the Bazaruto Archipelago, is the country's first luxury eco-boutique retreat. The 15 private villas are nestled amidst the indigenous trees yet are only footsteps from the beach. Each has its own infinity pool and all luxuries you could wish for. Enjoy the exceptional cuisine, made from fresh ingredients, either on the beach beneath the stars or as a picnic in a secluded spot of your choosing. Activities range from water sports such as scuba diving and kayaking to swimming with dolphins, exploring deserted beaches or relax and be pampered at the stunning spa.
Quilálea is located on a tiny uninhabited island off the north east coast. It has 9 villas, each built with natural stone and makuti thatch to ensure cool, tropical comfort. Scuba diving, snorkelling, fishing and sailing, as well as tours of the unspoilt marine eco-system are on offer. Revel in the flavours of Mozambican cuisine influenced by the spices of Portugal and Goa, or simply enjoy the taste of fresh lobster brought in by a passing dhow.
Medjumbe, made up of 13 secluded thatched chalets, is a 40 minute flight from Pemba , and lies within the Quirimbas Archipelago. The untouched coral reefs and tropical fish make this an ideal place to go diving or swimming. Apart from the usual activities such as wind-surfing and sailing, there is also a wide range of motorised sports such as water skiing and wakeboarding.
Vamizi Island Lodge, opened in December 2005, is located off the northern Mozambique coast not far from Mocimboa de Praiha. The lodge comprises of 10 separate secluded beach houses, each with a king size four poster bed and view of the sea from the shades of the forest. Activities include snorkelling, kayaking, diving and deep sea fishing. Vamizi's complete remoteness offers a true break from the routine of modern life.
